Who We Are

Our Mission

Through the arts and the creative act, Project Space 411 works to position Winston-Salem as an inclusive, forward-thinking city — connecting people, encouraging collaboration, and advancing fresh thinking that benefits all of our citizens.

Our Vision

To move all of Winston-Salem forward creatively, with the arts as the catalyst.

Our Story

Project Space 411 and its flagship initiative, Second Serving Studios, grew from a group of creative problem solvers who saw an opportunity to make Winston-Salem a nationally recognized leader in culinary media while having a real impact on the community at large.

In 2023, the Board committed to pursuing high-impact projects that could strengthen this community and unlock its potential. Second Serving Studios, at the heart of Winston-Salem's arts, innovation, and business district, is the boldest expression of that commitment.

The studio will create jobs, support workforce development, attract visitors, serve our small-business community, and open doors for students across our many institutions of higher education. Most importantly, it will bring Winston-Salem's diverse strengths together in one place.

Why Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem, the City of Arts and Innovation, is a place where creativity is woven into the culture. Built by makers, dreamers, and storytellers, shaped by the Moravian tradition of craftsmanship and community, that spirit lives on today in Old Salem, in our arts institutions, and in the belief that creativity can be a force for good.

It's also a city with the partners to make bold ideas real: major corporations, world-class universities, and a diverse creative community. Small enough for authentic relationships, big enough for national impact. For a nonprofit committed to access, equity, and community, there is no better home.
